SALISBURY, N.C. (August 23, 2018) – Partners In Learning has lined up top talent, special-needs models, local sponsors and a venue for its annual ‘Just As I Am’ fashion show. Trinity Oaks will host the fashion show on Saturday, September 22 and will feature more than a dozen of its young students with all donations going to the Scholarship Fund that assist the families with special needs children with financial support.
Norma Honeycutt, Partners In Learning Executive Director said of this year’s event plans, “We have a very active committee working together being led by Teresa Dakins of Trinity At Home. She and our other members have shared their professional networks, organizational skills and sweat equity for this event. We are looking forward to an inspiring and beautiful fashion show featuring many of the children that we serve.”
Rice, who leads the Performance Radio Network (PRN) owned by Speedway Motorsports, Inc., Concord, N.C. is a national radio network broadcasting more than twenty-five NASCAR races per season since 1981.
Rice, resides in Salisbury with his family and is a graduate of West Rowan High School, and Appalachian State University. Last year, Rice was inducted into the Salisbury-Rowan Hall of Fame and received the Horace Billings Lifetime Achievement Award.
“I had heard about this wonderful effort and was curious how I could assist in bringing its mission into the forefront of the Salisbury-Rowan community. We all have skills, and mine is with a microphone, I am thrilled to be a part of this event.” said Rice.
The fundraising event will be held at Trinity Oaks, Klumac Road, Salisbury, from 2 – 4 PM. The annual fashion show is in memory of an alumni Jacob Usher who passed away in 2015, at the age of seven.
Individual seats are $30 in advance and $35 at the door.
