Partners In Learning isn’t just about quality childcare. We offer programs for the entire family!
Your child’s safety is our primary concern. Our security system allows our staff instant access to your child’s medical information, arrival and departure times and the names of people authorized for drop off and pick up. All classrooms are equipped with observation windows and security cameras. An exclusive electronic access system allows only authorized personnel admittance into our building. Families, visitors and employees are only able to enter the school using the main door and classrooms that they need access to.
The North Carolina Department of Education has developed Early Learning Standards called: Foundations. Our classrooms align with the Foundations: Early Learning Standards for North Carolina Preschoolers and Strategies for Guiding Their Success. All Partners in Learning classrooms use the Creative Curriculum as an educational framework for planning and implementing a developmentally appropriate program.
The NC Pre-K Program provides high quality pre-kindergarten education for four-year-olds who may not have had the opportunities that prepare them for success in school. The program is built on the belief that all children can learn if given the opportunity, but many children have not had the same level of opportunity as other children. Our NC Pre-K classrooms meet the same high quality standards as all of the classrooms at PIL.
Partners in Learning has programs for school age children including a summer fun camp and after school program. Children in After School programs get better grades than their peers. They show greater interest in school, learn new skills, and exhibit improved behavior. Youth who do not attend after school programs are at greater risk of being involved in crime, and are missing out on important opportunities to learn and grow.
Partners in Learning offers the opportunity for college and high school students to complete their internships and practicums. The mission is to provide students with a hands-on experience working with and observing young children while serving as a model early childhood program for young children, including those with disabilities, and their families.
At Partners in Learning we have an regionally recognized wellness program that involved the staff and families and children we serve. Partners in Learning Child Development and Family Resource Center’s Wellness Program has received both awards and financial support. Each year Partners in Learning continues to advance its mission of providing a model wellness program and ensuring quality services to all children.
Partners in Learning provides numerous family resource programs including support groups, mini-conferences, and “parents’ night out.” Family Support Advocates are also on staf, visiting children’s homes regularly for the purpose of enrolling students in programs, interviewing parents, informing parents of school and/or community resources and providing child development/parenting information, and setting family goals.
