I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I have been married for the past 4 ½ years to H. Matthew Vaughters Jr. who is the Senior Pastor at New Resurrection Life Christian Center. To our union we share 4 children: Tomorrow 25, Damieka 23, EJ, 20 and Jairus 20 mths. We also have 3 granddaughters.
I started working in child care back in 1998 in my apartment. My love for working with children started years before in church when I was always ask to sit with them during services. Ironically on September 11, 2001 I had a job interview with the Police Athletic League (PAL) in New York to start working as a Administrative Assist. Not long after starting this job I started going to school at night at Medgar Evers college in Brooklyn, NY. I went from Admin to Assist Teacher.
On September 6, 2006 I moved from New York to Winston Salem, NC. After about 4 years in Winston I moved to Mocksville, where I currently reside. In August of 2011 went back to school at Davidson County Community College. I graduated in 2014 with my Associates in Applied Science. In September 2014 I started night classes at Catawba. I currently have 4 classes left to get my BA.
I spend my spare time assisting my husband with running our church. We also run a fellowship that has 4 other churches we are responsible for. When we are not on the road we have a singing group called 5th Generation that we enjoy singing with. d first, then Family, Church and Friends that is how we enjoy life.

I have worked with children birth through age 12 since 2001, providing me with a lot of classroom experience! Although I faced some obstacles with being a wife, mother and working full time, I obtained my Associates in Applied Science degree in Early Education at Rowan Cabarrus Community College in May 2016! My long term goal is to go back to school to obtain my Bachelors in Early Childhood Education. I am so happy to become part of the Partners In Learning Family!
