Special Needs Mini Conference 2017

Join Partners in Learning and Smart Start Rowan for the 2017 Special Needs Mini-Conference.

When: Saturday, May 6, 2017

Location: Catawba College Ketner Building (Free child care at Partners In Learning, provided by The Arc of Rowan)

Conference for parents and teachers (child care credit will be given)

Special Needs Mini Conference8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. – Registration

8:45 a.m. – 11:15 a.m. – Six great breakout sessions to choose from

11:15 – 11:30 – Special Needs Fair/Refreshments – Local agencies will provide booths with information about services that are available for individuals, families, professionals, and members of the community.

11:30-12:00 – Keynote – “It’s okay to Feel … My story is not so unique as many parents have ventured through this journey, what is unique is how I have learned through; Navigating the System, going through struggles and Triumphs, feelings of joy and defeat and rising above and turning the I can’t into I can and I will. Come and join me to learn that it is okay to Feel and how it can change your life. Tiffany is the Wife and mom of two special little boys both with special needs, 2016 Partners in Policymaking Graduate through Disability Rights, Director of Family Services at Amazing Grace Advocacy, Serves as an advocate and parent partner on numerous committees and boards, 2016 AMCHP(Association of Maternal Child Health Programs) Scholar, 2016 and published in their Newsletter for September/October 2016. Door prizes, family support, and networking opportunities.
