Does your child enjoy singing songs and making music? Have you been hoping to find a weekly small play-group environment for your child to have fun and make friends? Or, maybe you’d enjoy attending a Mommy & Me activity for you and your kiddo(s).
If so, the family-oriented music class put on by The Band Attic would be a great Saturday morning event for you and your children!
Their music classes are designed to be engaging, fun and educational. Aside from the obvious fun all children have while playing and learning music, music provides unique opportunities to learn skills valuable in the classroom and in the everyday world!
One recent study in California demonstrated that a group of students receiving musical instruction developed auditory systems increased faster relative to two groups receiving other kinds of instruction.
Music encourages creativity and has long been thought to help the brain organize information more efficiently. There’s a reason that we all remember our “childhood” songs and can quickly connect new material using music.
Classes work to develop rhythm, motor skills, singing, and the auditory and visual aspects of music, and have a lot of fun doing so while experiencing a wide variety of musical genres and styles. Naturally, the children lead the lesson in many ways based on interests and performance. In short, these music classes offer something for everyone!
We have been attending these classes since my son was about four-months old and he loves it! He always enjoys playing with the instruments and dancing along to the songs. He has also made some new friends!
The Band Attic’s music classes are family-oriented, focusing on ages Birth-PreK. Siblings, parents & grandparents are encouraged to attend!
Classes will be held from 10:00 am – 10:45 am at Yadkin Path Montessori School in Salisbury on Saturdays in March and April (except Easter weekend). The cost is $10 per lesson or $65 for the full 8-weeks of classes. For more information, check out the Facebook page “Kids Music Class by the Band Attic”.
