Catawba Teacher of the Month
I nominate Mrs Marianna, as teacher of the month for June. She is hard working and has a passion for the children, something even the children recognize. They call her “mommy wannas” and tell her they love her daily! She strives to do her best for the children and that is a much needed quality in teaching. Her impact has proven a blessing in many ways, and this is why I would like to nominate her as teacher of the month! ~Jennifer Plakyda
- What is your professional experience/education? I have a national CDA plus over twenty-two years in child care, I’ve taught kindergarten for fifteen years in my hometown St.Croix USVI.
- What has been your favorite memory at PIL? My favorite memory of PIL is of December 14th 2020, when my best friend passed away; I remember crying so hard that I was on the floor and beside me was Heather, Aleshya, and Cassie. They were on the floor with me. I remember I didn’t want to go to the funeral and they were telling me and encouraging me to go, even though I hadn’t worked with Partners for a whole month. I think that just made me want to stay, at that point I knew I found my second family here in North Carolina.
- How long have you been at PIL? I have been with Partners for 6 months.
