Our Classrooms

 

We have classrooms at two different locations, Novant and Catawba. Below is a list of classrooms at each location and sample exemplar lesson plans so you can see the kind of lessons we teach.

We open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m. Children must arrive by 9:30 a.m.

Catawba Teacher of the Month

“I chose Meliya as teacher of the month, partially for the fountain of patience that she is and partially for the huge role she played in preparing my son for Kindergarten. PIL is lucky to have this angel in human form.” – Tony

  1. How long have you been with PIL? I’ve been with PIL 7.5 yeara
  2. What is your background/training/education? I have my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education and I am licensed to teach Pre-K up to 3rd grade. 
  3. Do you have a favorite meal/snack from the PIL cafeteria? I love the cheesy beef and mac 
  4. What has been your favorite memory at PIL so far? There are too many good memories to pinpoint one, but I love all of the relationships that I have developed over the years—temporary and long!
  5. What made you want to work at PIL? After an internship in the two year old room, I knew I wanted to stay and I’m so glad I did

“I chose Rebecca as the Teacher of the Month because of her devotion to her job and children. She goes above and beyond. She is always there to help her teammates and assist with the children. She will lend a hand to help everyone and she does it with grace -Kendra

  1. How long have you been with PIL? A year and four months
  2. What is your background/training/education? I worked at Noah’s Ark for 7 years total. I also worked for five years with disabled adults and children in a group home setting
  3. Do you have a favorite meal/snack from the PIL cafeteria? I like the chicken noodle soup and the Taco soup for lunch. My favorite snack is pita chips and dip!
  4. What has been your favorite memory at PIL so far? I love getting to watch the children accomplish a goal that they’ve been working on, like when they finally are able to put their jacket on by themselves and they get so excited about it!
  5. What made you want to work at PIL? I wanted to give a bigger center a try and I like how I felt welcomed during my interview, there was a family feel.
